What’s in my Disneyland Bag?

One thing I’ve learned about Disneyland and theme parks in general is that you should ALWAYS bring a backpack. It doesn’t have to be a huge backpack but is needs to be big enough to fit all of your belongings. If you don’t have a smaller backpack, check out some options at Target or even the dollar store. If you want a Disney backpack, go to the World of Disney store in Downtown Disney. They have so many options! Here are my essentials for any Disney trip:

Phone and Portable Charger

Your phone may seem like an obvious item to bring, but it can be easy to forget while you’re rushing to leave in the morning. Charge it overnight and once you wake up, unplug it and stick it in your backpack. That way it will already be there and it’s one less thing to worry about! If you don’t have a portable charger, I highly suggest that you invest in one. It’s possible to find one that is not super expensive, and they are a huge help when your phone is constantly being used all day. Your battery can easily be drained by taking pictures and videos, checking the Disneyland app, going on social media while waiting in lines, and texting or calling. Just like with your phone, charge your portable charger overnight and put it in your bag in the morning. I forgot my portable charger once and it was annoying having to limit the time I spent on my phone in hopes to save battery. Don’t make the same mistake! In order to use a portable charger you also need a charging cord so have that already plugged into the charger ready to go. Now you don’t have to worry about your battery dying!

Water Bottle and Snacks

You are able to bring a personal water bottle into the parks. I usually bring a tin bottle so I can easily fill it up and the water stays cold. Having a backpack with a bottle holder is a plus so you always have easy access to it. You will be doing lots of walking, standing and having fun on rides so it’s very important that you stay hydrated. There are water fountains located all around the parks so fill up when you need to!

Snacks are also allowed in the parks! I tend to bring simple snacks such as almonds, granola bars, or fruit. When you need just a small snack to boost your energy, why bother paying for one when you can bring your own? Also, it’s better to bring a healthy snack then succumb to the delicious sweet treats in the parks that won’t give you as much energy. The night before you leave, put some snack bags in an obvious place where you won’t forget to fill them up. I also set a reminder on my phone to bring snacks since I know I’ll be miserable if I forget them.

Wallet

Try not to bring a heavy or large wallet to the parks. This will only make your bag heavier and it’s a bit risky to bring too many personal belongings to a public place. Invest in a small wallet that’s able to hold a couple credit cards, an ID, cash and you’re Disney ticket or annual pass. These are all that you really need for food, merchandise and getting in and out of the parks.

Sweatshirt and Sunglasses

No matter what time of the year you are going, it’s important to check the weather during your trip. Even though it can get very warm during the day, it can also get colder at night. And if you decide to go on a water ride at night, a sweatshirt will come in handy. Wouldn’t you rather be cozy while watching the fireworks than be cold? If you don’t have room for a jacket or sweatshirt during the day, Disney has a vast range of options in every store in the parks. You can get a Disney souvenir and be warm at the same time!

If you’re going to the parks during a sunny time of the year, don’t forget to bring sunglasses. Some people don’t really use them, but I cannot leave the house without them. My eyes are pretty sensitive to sunlight, so I always carry them with me. They can be an extra accessory for your super cute Disney outfit!

Ears

Last but certainly not least, bring a pair of ears to the parks! I always wear a pair of Minnie ears to complete my Disney outfit. They come in so many different colors and styles, it’s hard not to take one home with you. They’re also a great way to show off your Disney spirit! Stop at any merchandise store in the parks and pick your favorite!

With these Disneyland trip essentials, you’ll be ready to have a magical day! What else do you keep in your Disney bag?
